Ancient Egyptians associated Virgo with the goddess Au Set
(later known as Isis), who, among other things, taught women to grind
corn. The Virgin, symbol of your sign, often holds an ear of grain,
alluding to the harvest of late summer. You understand the harvest of hard
work, which entails observation, measuring differences, tabulating
details, memorizing data, systematizing and organizing methods of
operation. Your love for order and harmony is revealed in the way you
approach life. You function on a cerebral level, but because you're an
earth sign, your mental approach is pragmatic. You want to see results,
your own personal harvest. |
|
|
Your
keyword is DISCRIMINATION. It's what you use to resolve the various
conflicts you're faced with on a daily basis. Not much gets by you without
questioning it, because you need to allocate a place and system for
everything. You're perpetually in the assessment and preparation stages of
making adjustments. You prefer to make your own decisions. Your process of
judgment involves analyzing everything down to the last detail before
taking action. You can be fault-finding and very sarcastic, but you are
not naturally aggressive. Your poised, cool or retiring exterior is an
indication of your need for inner peace. |

Love Info

|
Your forte is small talk. You are playfully
sarcastic, helpful and generous with advice, and you're at your best when
you're tolerant, sympathetic and easygoing. However, with your need for
privacy, you can be somewhat of a loner. You're prudent about love and
approach it with your head. You want it to fit into a schedule or program
and to be orderly, emphasizing stability and security. Your ideal in a
romantic relationship is someone who's mature, conservative, responsible,
well established, practical and organized. You're likely to meet your mate
among corporative executives, architects, builders, contractors, farmers,
government officials, land owners, entrepreneurs, politicians, ranchers
and real estate agents. |

Work
Info

|
You are an ideal worker, because of your ability to be
responsible, thorough, efficient, detail-oriented and well organized. You
approach in original ways. You work well on your own, but the more
sociable and club-like your work atmosphere, the better. There will often
be a humanitarian motive in choosing your field of work. You lean toward
social services, medicine, psychiatry, education, consulting or science.
With your eye for order and balance, you would do well in design,
gardening, landscaping or engineering. Ultimately, you could excel as a
communications specialist in computers, radio, television and newspapers,
or as a speaker or writer. Occupations involving travel could also appeal
to you. |

Health Info

|
Your
symbol, the Virgin, often holds food in her hand, implying the importance
of diet. The symbol usually holds corn, which suggests that you should eat
what grows from the ground rather than what walks on it. The digestive
system is your body's vulnerable area and, if afflicted, could adversely
affect your nervous system and mental outlook. Try to eat your meals on
schedule and in a relaxed state, and seriously consider the quality of
your food intake. Avoid fat and greasy foods and emphasize cereals or
gluten-free grains if you suffer digestive disorders. Exercise on a
treadmill or stationary bicycle in your home. Wear proper shoes to protect
your ankles and lower legs, which are also sensitive areas for you.
Investigate new approaches to health and modern remedies including
medicinal herbs, subliminal tapes and hypnotherapy.

Date Guide |
Insights into Likes, Dislikes,
Motivations and Desires: The key to romancing a Virgo is simple elegance -
take your date out for a tasteful, stylish evening. But don't be too
spendy - your Virgo will be embarrassed by splashy shows of money, and
will be more impressed by value rather than amount. Also keep in mind that
Virgo rules the house of health, so a date with physical activity
(especially outdoors) will be a hit. Or, for a more alternative idea, go
for a joint spa treatment. Virgos also love animals, so a date that puts
your Virgo in contact with them (like a trip to the zoo!) will earn you a
smile. |
Suggestions for the perfect date for a
Virgo: |
Go
rollerblading, go hiking, feed the ducks,
go to the museum, play miniature golf, take a walk in a botanical garden,
go wine tasting or go to a wine bar, go to an art exhibit opening, spend a
night in a Bread and Breakfast, go horse-back riding, go for a simple but
elegant meal, take a walking tour of your city, go horse-back
riding |

Mercury's compatibility under Virgo with each
sign in more detail is as follows. |
 |
Aries
& Virgo:

|
"Indeed they were constantly bumping... if they saw a cloud
in front of them, then they tried to avoid it, the more certainly did they
bump into it" (Goodman 91)
Aries are more general creatures who are not so
much into detail and trust their emotions much more than the Virgo who is
very much into detail, and trust facts and evidence many times over
feelings. The two are more polar opposites than they are close lovers in
that they could work together easily but the connection between the two
seems to many times be held off by the differences they have in views of
life, health and reason. |
 |
Taurus
& Virgo:

|
"... but on the whole the neverlands have a family
resemblance, and if they stood still in a row you could say of them that
they have each other's nose, and so forth" (Goodman 212).
Each of
the two have what they like and dislike about the other, while the Virgo
may approve of the Taurus strength they disapprove of their stubbornness,
and while the Taurus may enjoy the Virgo mind they can't put up with the
detail that the Virgo bend to many times. The two tend to get along well
due to the similarities they have, there are differences but not as many
as the similarities, and in some cases the two signs seem more like
siblings than the others. both are earth signs and are negative, the
difference with Taurus being fixed while Virgo being mutable, both are
night forces and feminine. almost identical signs.
|
 |
Gemini & Virgo:

|
"Off we skip
like the most heartless things in the world, which is what children are,
but so attractive... we have an entirely selfish time; and then when we
have need of special attention we nobly return for it, confident that we
shall be embraced instead of smacked" (Goodman 319).
The Gemini and the Virgo seem
many times more like parent and child than lovers, in that the Gemini
tends to be that. The Gemini tend to love the Virgo's more stable nature,
but dislike the scolding they might get for their childish ways. The Virgo
may enjoy the Gemini's playful nature and freedom, but dislike their
inability to become serious enough. |
 |
Cancer
& Virgo:

|
"They found the dinghy, and when home in it.. when their
voices died away, there came a cold silence over the lagoon, and then a
feeble cry. "help, help!" Two small figures, were beating against the
rock..." (Goodman 413)
Virgo
gets along with Cancer much better than many of the other signs due to the
water element of the Cancer sign. Although the two at first wouldn't seem
to be similar at all their similarity is much deeper. The Cancer can coax
the Virgo out of it's shell and relax from the details it normally lives
by. |
 |
Leo & Virgo:

|
"Some of them wanted to be
an honest ship and others were in favor of keeping it a pirate; but the
captain treated them as dogs, and they dared no express their wishes to
him even in a round robin." (Goodman 494)
Leo tends to be the dominate or tries to be
in relationships like this. and depending on if the Virgo will bend to the
Leo or if Leo will loosen up for the Virgo it might work well. The problem
comes in when Leo's pride is mistaken by Virgo for cold heartedness, and
Virgo's sensitivity is mistaken by Leo for weakness. |
 |
Virgo
& Virgo:

|
"When you wake in the morning, the naughtiness and ill
passions with which you went to bed have been folded up small and placed
at the bottom of your mind; and on the top, beautifully aired, are spread
out your prettier thoughts, ready for you to put on" (Goodman
573). |
 |
Libra
& Virgo:

|
"....When the first baby laughed for the first time, it's
laughter broke into a thousand pieces, and they all went skipping about,
and that was the beginning of fairies.... tedious talk, this..." (Goodman
582). |
 |
Scorpio
& Virgo:

|
"None of them knew. perhaps it was best not to know. Their
ignorance gave them one more glad hour." (Goodman 593.) |
 |
Sagittarius
& Virgo:

|
"'. . . . . What's that in the brushwood."? 'It's a wolf,
with her welps' 'Just the sort of idea a dog would have'" (Goodman
603.) |
 |
Capricorn
& Virgo:

|
"'All look your best,' Peter warned them 'First impressions
are awfully important' He was glad that nobody asked him what an
impression was, they were all too busy looking their best." (Goodman
614.) |
 |
Aquarius
& Virgo:

|
"A Never tree tried so hard to grow in the center of the
room, but every morning they sawed the trunk through, level with the
floor." (Goodman 626.) |
 |
Pisces
& Virgo:

|
". . . . .no one can fly unless fairy dust has been sprinkled
on him" (Goodman 637.) |
