Volume 1: Dream Reborn

Chapter 1: Dreams...

The Earth... it looks so beautiful from here, like a big beautiful blue and green ball. Serena held up a slender hand in front of her face to make it appear as if the Earth were in her hand. With a sigh she lowered her hand, and ran it through her long blonde hair.

Tomorrow night it would be her 18th birthday as she guessed by the human calendar the people of earth had worked so hard to put together. She wondered for a moment why she had insisted that her mother take the Terran calendar so seriously then her mind rested on the Prince of Earth. Serena's heart skipped a beat as her mind formed an image of him. Onyx hair, which to her seemed like silk to bring out his deep blue eyes. She placed a hand delicately over her chest as her heart quickened at the sound of his deep voice.

It was then she felt it a soft nibble on her ear, which sent her senses reeling over the edge. She gasped; feeling a warm feeling flood her entire body.

"My lord please if you do that again I don't know if I?ll be able to control myself" She fought hard to control her heart, but it refused to listen, beating faster and faster.

"I'm sorry my love I simply could not help but have my hands upon you... you are so beautiful standing there. It is I who could not help myself. I wish I could take you now my love, we've waited so long for this."

As do I, she thought to herself as she traced her hands across the prince's uniform. Deep down it disturbed her that Earth pranced around in such uniforms despite the fact that it had been hundreds of years since Atlantis was threatened with loss through war. Serena's eyes danced up and down the princes' black and blue uniform coming down to his waist, Oh my, I have to stop myself I must wait for our wedding.

Prince Endymion could tell that Serena was close to loosing control of herself. The small quivers that ran up and down her body, how she constantly wet her lips with the tip of her tongue. He wanted to move further but knew that they had waited so long for their marriage waiting a little while longer seemed unbearable.

"My lord what will happen to us?"

"Why my lord all of a sudden" He whispered gently into her ear, "Do you expect Mina to walk though the door at any moment?"

Serena gasped, as his lips were inches away from her ear, his breath tickling her earlobes as he spoke. It took all of her strength to move forward a few steps.

"Endy... what will happen to us?"

"What do you mean my love?"

"It's just that crystal which fell upon the earth not so long ago... it worries me? All of the fire which had a moment ago burned in her body simply snuffed out as she shivered. Why had the room become so unbearably cold and empty when she mentioned that Crystal. She felt a coat drape around her shoulders, Endymion's hands on her shoulder lending his strength to her. "My Mother told me that I shouldn't worry, but I cannot help it... if anything should happen to you." tears, there were tears running quietly down her face causing her to shiver even more against the cold brought on by the Crystal. "... I don't know what I would do." Her energy gone as if talking of the Crystal sapped it all away like a disgusting parasite.

Endymion caught the princess carefully moving her to a bench not to far off "Worry not... I have sent Earth's warriors to investigate. Kunzite will get to the bottom of this... however I fear your guardians will not forgive me from taking their loved ones from their arms.

Serenity giggled thinking about her four guardians, Raye the passionate daughter of a priest who took care of care of her spiritual training. Serena gave a silent prayer to the Goddess that Raye's heated temper would not lash out against poor Jadeite.

The two passionate lovers were the prime example of what Mina would call Opposites attracting. Raye with her raven hair and pale looks against Jedeite's soft blonde hair but deep tan.

Amy on the other hand, the water to Raye's burning fire lectured her on everything from mathematics to biology. When Serena mentioned the certain biology between her and Jadeite's older brother Zoisite it was her turn to be like Raye if only for a moment. A deep Blush would fill her light skin-contrasting heavy against her raven hair. At first glance one would think that Amy and Raye were sisters, until that beautiful blush appears on her face.

Zoisite always the teaser would at that moment lean over and whisper something into Amy's ear sending the blush even deeper than Serena ever thought possible. One Day she thought to herself, I shall have to learn just what Zoisite tells her.

Nephrite, the second in command of Earth's armies, had caught the eye of Serena's energetic guard Makoto. Serena gave a passing glance around the room; no doubt the girl was hiding somewhere. Makoto loved her like a sister and would simply die for her; deep down Serena knew that if Endymion had ever done anything to hurt her... Makoto would have killed him before he even realized it.

Makoto and Nephrite looked more like brother and sister rather than lovers. Their long chestnut brown hair hinted at them even being twins. Mako, as Serena called her, taught her how to fight and defend herself, although much to her dismay Minako was the better fighter of the two.

Minako, as many of the knights of Earth claimed was the true beauty. Her long blonde hair and elegant features would have been enough to make anyone jealous of her. As many a woman found out, it was impossible to be jealous of Mina, no matter how she acted or would act. Mina was a child a heart simple and innocent completely unaware of what her physical beauty did to all of the men around her. Everything Mina did was that of a young girl, down to the red ribbon she always wore in her hair.

As innocent as she was, Mina was an expert at stratagem oftentimes leading with a guile that would box in her opponents before they could even realize that they had lost. Mina was also Serena's ear when she felt worried, for it could be told that if you had a problem it was best to tell Mina. Mina was something else to Serena, her older sister.

"Daydreaming again my love? Ah it is good to see a smile on your face rather than the frown you held just a moment ago. What were you thinking... if that is you wish to tell??

"I was thinking about how Mina would ever make it thought the day without passionately kissing her love" A twig snapped in the distance bringing a smile to Serena's face. So Mina is guarding me rather than Mako the plot thickens.

"I love you my princess" Endymion leaned over gently kissing her on the lips, soft at first turning deeper and deeper as she flung her arms around him.

"Serena!"

Serena jerked around expecting to be face to face with either her Mother or Raye, she secretly wished that a dragon would be standing there.

Crossroads, Wasington, United States

December 2000

She woke quickly sitting up in her bed reaching for her notebook. What were their names, their names..? Darn it I can't remember them. With a sigh she looked at the moon decorated paper of her dream journal. A moment later she returns her journal to her nightstand. Maybe another night I will remember them.

With a hop Serena made her way over to where her school uniform hung by her mirror. Holding the uniform up to her body for a moment Serena began posing in front of the mirror. She closes her eyes upon feeling his lips on hers, and a warm feeling quickly spread through her body as they held one another in the earthlight.

I wonder what happened to them... It's the first time I've dreamed of them so worried about that crystal. Serena sat up in her bed, glancing around at the many moon decorations that filled her room.

With a sigh, the blonde rolled off of the bed and grabbed her uniform on the way to the shower.

Ever since I could remember I've had dreams like that one last night... the Princess, her protectors and their lovers on Earth. All of the dreams took place on the Moon, but never once have I been able to remember more than the basics. I can't remember any of their names, all I can remember is who they are in relation to me and what they did.

I guess you could say that was when I first became interested in the Moon. Earth looked so beautiful from there in my dreams, like a big beautiful marble floating in the air. I've always felt they were too real to simply be my imagination... maybe one day I will go there... to the Moon.

"Morning sis." Serena's 9-year-old sister, Samantha rushed down the hall. The Tomboy had been dressing like the sports star, Haruka Tenou, ever since she had watched Haruka win a gold medal in her first Olympics. Their mother died giving birth to Samantha, something even now the young girl sometimes blamed herself for, believing that it was all her fault her mother died. It had taken so long before Samantha finally admitted it really wasn't her fault, but in that time she had refused to wear any dresses after reinforcing in he mind that if she had been a boy maybe her mother might have lived.

Haruka, at first had reinforced the way Samantha dressed, but it had also been what had changed the little girls attitude about herself. Eventually, Haurka's strength gave Samantha the strength to put away the thoughts that it was her fault.

Standing under the water from the shower, Serena wished that the water could wash away the sinking feeling that began to grow in her that morning after her dream. Something was wrong, as she never had a dream like that before. There had been times in which in the dream she and her friends were in danger, but at that moment she felt nothing but doom, a certain end of them.

Moments later Serena was out the door and heading towards Crossroads High School. I forgot breakfast, the blonde thought to herself as she walked quietly down the street, I really should get up earlier. Serena thought about what would happen next year, it would be her first year in college, finally a year of freedom. The blonde kept wondering just what she would do when she got there, what major would it be more fun to take up, and where to look for parties. Deep in thought, Serena trotted thoughtfully to school. I can't wait until I graduate... but then there's college.

"Wrap this around her." The voice drifted from in a parking lot just ahead of Serena. A boy, probably picking on their sister. she followed the voices out of curiosity into an alley to find two small boys wrapping up a black cat.

"Leave that cat alone!"

Knowing they were caught, the two rushed off quickly, dropping the cat harshly on the ground. In a moment the two bullies were out of sight and most likely out to find someone else to pick on.

"Poor thing." Serena walked up to the stunned feline, carefully lifting it onto her lap. She then cautiously began to unwrap what the boys placed on it until she came upon two band-aids forming a X on the kitty's forehead. To the girl's surprise the symbol beneath the band-aids was a small, luminescent crescent moon.

With the band aid no longer covering the moon on the kitty's forehead, a look appeared in the it's eyes, making it appear intelligent. The blonde simply watched with stunned eyes as the cat leapt from her lap, scampering into nearby bushes.

"What are you doing, Serena?" From the entrance to the nearby parking lot stood an auburn haired girl about the same age as Serena. At the entrance of the parking lot stood Molly Drake, her voice slow and deliberate giving even more emphasis to her southern accent.

"The oddest thing happened... I saw these boys wrapping a kitty up with bandages. Well, they ran off when they found out someone else was here, but I swear that kitty had a crescent moon on her forehead," Serena was beside her friend a moment later moving her eyes around the parking lot in hopes to see the cat, but watching in vain.

"Probably imagined it with all your dreams of the Moon... still, with the way you describe them, I wouldn't mind having them as well," Molly said wistfully.

The blushing blonde didn't even reply for a moment. "I think that is the last time I'll play truth or dare with you."

The two girls were soon on their way to school again, neither of them realizing they were being followed, by a small black cat.

Far away a woman sits watching the events that take place around the planet from a small crystal ball. Her eyes dart around constantly as images appear and disappear almost faster than she could even see them. She had waited much too long to claim what was her birthright among the stars, to claim the one thing she wanted above all else, and now she felt was the time to reach for it.

"Send for him now" She was surprised at how her voice sounded, old and weary from waiting so long to take action. The Imperium crystal would be hers soon, and through it she would win the heart of the true prince of Earth.

A young warrior entered her room wearing a light gray uniform with the edges a deep red. Jadeite, one of the Royal guards of Earth had been relatively easy for her to find. She had easily removed the warrior spirit, which stood before her now, from a rich brat living not all that far from Crossroads. It was then she suspected that would be where the princess would appear again, the irony of it all never ceased to bring a smile to her face.

"What is it you wish my Queen." A hollow voice lifted from the warrior as he knelt before her.

"We are going to begin our search for the Imperium Crystal, Take whoever you wish but make sure that you find the Crystal before that brat from the moon does.

"As you wish, I will find it." Flames began appearing at the warrior's feet flickering weakly a moment before shooting up his body in an instant he was covered in flames which died out a moment later leaving nothing but air.

His power hasn't returned to the level it should be. With a sigh Beryl wondered just how he would be able to handle the princess with the Imperium Crystal should she wake up. Then again, the Queen wasn't able to use the power of the Imperium Crystal long ago, the princess might not be able to either.

It's not the grade I hoped for but it's still good. Serena looked over the 89 on her history test with a sigh. I feel like I should have done better than this.

"What'd you make Serena?" Molly skipped alongside her friend as they made their way home from school. The redhead showed her friend a paper with a 90 on it.

"looks like we missed about the same questions.. except one." It was then Serena heard her friend give a small sigh, "I wish I were as smart as Melvin" Serena mouthed out without making a sound as her friend said so aloud.

"He made a 98, and when I can actually make that high he makes a 100. Just once I?d like to get the same grade or maybe just a point higher."

Over her friends shoulder Serena could see Melvin watch them nervously. She had never really noticed the look Melvin gave Molly before, not until now. Deep down Serena wondered why she missed it before, maybe Melvin was in love with her friend.

"Serena do you want to stop by my mother's shop on the way home?"

"Yeah sure sounds good to me" Serena smiled and picked up her books following her friend out the door. She wondered if there was a way she could get Melvin's courage up enough to ask Molly to the Valentine's dance coming up.

Before she could even understand what was going on Serena was on the ground looking up at the most beautiful boy she thought she ever saw.

"Are you okay?" The boy reached down to help Serena to her feet. "Sorry about that."

"I had something to do with this as well.. I should have watched where I was going." The blonde could feel the heat fill her face and shoulders as she looked at the boy's face. He kind of reminds me of that prince in my dreams. Raven hair, blue eyes, Serena could feel herself blush even more as she compared the two.

Molly seeing that her friend wouldn't be speaking anytime soon quickly too the chance, "Hello thanks for helping my friend, I'm Molly, and my Friend is Serena."

"Darian, it's nice to meet you girls." He gave a smile to Serena, She's familiar to me somehow, and then with that he turned and walked off.

Serena finally felt her face return to normal as he walked off. The blush on her face quickly retreated, I wonder if this is fate, maybe he is the one.

"So Serena you think he'll ask you to the dance?"

"I don't know maybe, but he doesn't know where I live or anything about me." Serena quickly stopped talking and watched the pavement as she walked trying to hold down a blush from rising any further.

"You've got it Serena." Molly gave her friend a wink then reached out to pull Serena into her Mom's Jewelry store.

"Sale, everything on this table is 90% off quickly come in and buy as much as you can!" Molly's Mother, Jenna, stood at the back of the store behind a table of small gems, a microphone in her hand.

"What is going on?" Molly whispered under her breath, only Serena heard.

In the back of a small Jewelry store Jadeite watches several customers walking picking up the special gems he had placed out thinking they were getting a deal. They think that they are getting ahead, the general thought to himself as he tossed one of the gems between his hands, what they don't realize is that this gem is nothing more than a battery. Soon their energy will help us find the Imperium Crystal.

That was the moment she walked into the store, and Jadeite could swear her eyes almost glowed. A beautiful blonde girl, with shoulder length hair, standing next to a red haired girl.

"One of them is that woman's daughter, the red head, but who is that one?" Jadeite turned his eyes off the woman standing next to him. She was nothing more than a shadow, someone to take the place of the real owner of the jewelry store. "Don't let that girl figure out who you really are I must go now the Imperium Crystal isn't here, not that I expected it to be."

The Shadow looked at him with a look of surprise, "Yes master, I will not fail you." The shadow turned to look at the red head standing at the door, so that is the woman's daughter. She is a very pretty girl, it reminds me of what I really wanted to be, just as innocent. The shadow shut her eyes tight willing away such thoughts, she knew if Beryl found out what went on in her minds, she would be destroyed without a second thought.

"Oh Molly why don't you bring Serena over and look at these new jewels I have for sale"

Serena just looked at the woman for a moment, she's been dating my father but I don't feel like I know her at the moment. Something is wrong here, I think I should go home. "I would love that but I should get home now, I promised to help time Sammy with her track runs."

Serena was quickly out the door and down the street wondering what had happened to Molly's mother. Ever since Serena's mother died giving birth to Samantha, Jenna had really saved her family. Jenna helped her father get over his grief, and in time the two became much closer. Serena wondered what caused Jenna to change today. did she have a fight with her father? or worse?

When Serena next looked up she could see the Arcade next to her. Home, my home away from home. The blonde smiled as she walked into the door glancing at the Sailor V game sitting on the other side of the room.

"Hiya Serena, I was wondering when you would show up. We got a new Sailor V game in, virtual reality this time, but it's not set up just yet. We can only show demos taken from Tokyo." A young man snuck up behind her, his features making him appear to look like her older brother.

Stars quickly light up Serena?s eyes as she thought about playing the part of Sailor V. "Let me have the first game Andrew?"

"We're having a contest to decide who will be the first, the Christmas party will be when that will happen we even received a special Christmas program just for it... Say Serena is that your cat?"

The blonde quickly turned around to see a small black cat with a tiny crescent moon on her forehead staring at her. A shiver traveled quickly up Serena's spine as she shook her head. "No.. she's not mine. I saw some bullies being mean to her."

"Maybe she wants you to be her new owner." With that the cat quickly ran down the street as fast as it could, "Or then again maybe not."

Jadiete watched as the last customer left the building. With their energy he felt that soon the Imperium Crystal could be found. The Humans had an excess energy that they could never get even from the sun. Those feelings they use will be their downfall.

"Thank you for helping me lock up" The shadow walked past Jadeite and to the alarm system quickly arming it setting a delay so the two could quickly leave the shop.

"Mom who is he?"

"I thought you would have taken the bus home with Serena?" Hopefully the girl doesn't suspect the truth.

"I would have mom.. but are you mad at Mister Usagi?" Molly had hopped to the bottom of her heart it wasn't so. She had for a long time wanted a father again, Serena as a sister would be fun too.

"No I?m not mad with him at all" Jenny quickly ushered Molly into her car, and soon the two were on their way home. She'll figure me out soon and then I will be over, we'll have to use the crystals tonight.

Serena slowly opened her eyes and watched as the light from the moon filled her room. It was then she heard a small scratching sound coming from the floor. A cat, a small black cat with a crescent moon on its forehead sat watching her. The windows and doors were closed how did she get in here?

"Serena I?ve been looking for you" A small feminine voice drifted from where cat. Serena stared at in shock unable to make even the smallest of sounds as the cat continued. "Haven't you ever wondered why your dreams were so... realistic Serena... how they seemed as if you really lived that kind of life before?"

How did she know about my dreams, images from those dreams flashed in the teenagers mind as though a dam holding back those images was let loose.

"I've brought this to you it will explain everything" In front of the cat now sat a small broach with a crescent moon on it in sapphire.

With slow movements the blonde reached down off her bed and picked up the broach. I'm dreaming so there is nothing wrong with this, but wait I can feel how cold this broach is.

"Listen to those words which are forming in your mind because of that broach Serena"

"Words.." Her eyes went wide as words began forming in her mind. "Moon Prism... Power" Before she even realized what she was doing the words had escaped her lips. A warm feeling began growing in her chest, quickly flowing around her body. That feeling became brighter and brighter filling the room with light.

She could feel her clothing disappear for a moment the light forming around her body as if it were a swimsuit rather than simply light. That light quickly began to form into a solid white outfit. The light moved around her body forming even stronger until at last she looked into the mirror to see something familiar in her dreams.

She was wearing a white swimsuit like outfit with a dark blue skirt attached. On her feet deep red books which matched the red boy on her chest and the tips of her gloves. In the middle of that bow the broach she received glowered brightly before simply sending off small pulses of energy. With a shaky hand she reached up to touch a soft mask that rested over her face. "W-What is this?"

"This is what is left of the moon kingdom and you are one of its warriors. It's up to us to find the princess and the Imperium Crystal before the enemy does. Welcome back Sailor Moon we could use your help now more than ever."
