Spice Girls fans verdict on reunion
The planned Spice Girls reunion won't work without Geri - that's the view that some of the most dedicated fans of Girl Power have been telling worldpop, following the news that plans are underway to get the girls to perform at a 10-year anniversary concert.
'I think it's be nice for the true fans who've supported them all the way, but without Geri it won't work!' posted one guest on the worldpop Spice Girls message board.
Another poster added: 'Funny how their first two albums with Geri sold bucket loads while their third album sold poorly. I think this shows she was a VERY big part of the group and if they do plan on coming back they better hope she comes back too.'
'They may have a reunion but is the world ready to stomach the Spice Girls again?' added regular Spice Girls poster, Jess. 'Geri will never agree to go back with them, her business with the Spice Girls is over.'
Former Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller is already putting plans into action to get the Spice Girls on stage together again to celebrate 10 years together. A greatest hits album covering their record-breaking nine No 1 singles is also a possibility.
At this early stage it is not yet known if Geri Halliwell is part of the plans. Geri quit the group four years ago and has since forged a successful solo career for herself. Although there has been no official announcement of a split, the remaining Spice Girls have put the group on hold.
