What I do

I am employed as a Safety Specialist by the United States Navy at Naval Weapons Station Earle, located in Colt's Neck, New Jersey. As an Explosives Safety Specialist, my duties include, but are not limited to, oversight of the Conventional Ordnance Qualification and Certification Program, review of Site Plan Approvals and construction projects within the Ordnance Area, and periodic inspections of magazines and operating facilities to ensure compliance with established Explosive Safety guidelines. Additionally, the Explosives Safety Division observes incoming and outgoing shipments of materials for process quality control purposes and provides handling technical assistance/monitoring during shiploading/unloading operations. We are also tasked with investigations of any accident/incident involving explosives loaded conveyances and all railroad related accidents within the confines of the station.
