A recent "Manager's Choice" from Majestic Wine Warehouse was Moulin-â-Vent 'Les Bruyères' 2006 B. de Monceny; Showing a nose of bitter chocolate, cherries and a wonderfully constructed palate, this Beaujolais could easily be mistaken for a Pinot Noir. It is however, a good example of a Beaujolais cru famed for its fuller style and keeness to age. At this price we're really impressed by its complexity and length.

A hugely characterful wine displaying unique floral aromas and fabulous exotic fruits. This wine has been left on its lees for at least 6 months creating a sturdy structure and an elegant complexity.

Carignan Vieilles Vignes 2005, Vin de Pays d'Oc, Gérard Bertrand, at Majestic Wine
From one of the top Languedoc producers comes this soft, supple and fruity red. Rich aromas of plum, blackcurrant, wild strawberry and black cherry follow through to a smooth, elegant palate with enough fine tannin to make this the perfect accompaniment to grilled meats and game.

Château Méaume 'Château Matured' 2001, Bordeaux Supérieur, at Majestic Wine Warehouse
Alan Johnson-Hill was a city banker before settling at Château Méaume, north of Pomerol. Matured in barrels sourced from the famous Château Le Pin, his wine has gained cult status in the UK. Improving with every vintage, this merlot-dominated blend reveals a nose of fruitcake, spice and ripe, plummy fruit. Soft and rich on the palate, the classic structure will cope with all manner of foods.
