Emperial Army - Psi Corp.

For years the Empire has been accumulating children and young teens on their raids through towns, often picking up stragglers left homeless from their many battles. These children are taken to storage facilities of undisclosed underground locations, have their memories swept clean, and are placed into one of several projects the Psi Corp sponsors. A small number of adults have also been taken, but due to a higher security risk and the simple fact that adults tend to be harder to capture, they are few and far between. Therefore, only the more gifted are generally sought and always with specific missions in mind.

The Public Face

As several of these stolen children have grown, the effectiveness of their powers and ability to work together has prompted the ever-daring Empire to introduce a new unit to fight their battles for them. They are used in a variety of ways, as everything from assassins and interrogators, to tacticians and living weapons through the use of their telekinetics, manipulation and creation of space and natural phenomenon, and mental abilities.

Their commanding officer is Eirek, a legendary psycher with powers far exceeding what all other known psychers have ever possessed. Seen as a leader, a father figure, and a teacher, he is well liked by nearly all of the psychers in the corp. His influence has also brought many outside psychers to join the unit of their own free will. It is his role to both lead and inspire current members as well as to train newcomers so that they will someday be at the same level of skill as his master pupils.

Psi Corp. specialists make the standard $8,000/month salary of the Empire and enjoy many luxuries and freedoms that other soldiers do not possess. Seeking to keep them happy, the Empire has granted them nearly free run of the base and surrounding areas so long as they stay within their orders.

They also have their own separate housing facility: six psychers share an internal unit, each with its own common room and a separate bedroom for each member. Some more jealous soldiers outside the unit tend to think that this is done to keep them at bay so they wont try to obliterate the commanders, but any truth to this rumor is unconfirmed. Still its true that many fear their incredible powers, which served to deepened the rift between human and psycher, at least within the walls of the empires military installations. The Corp. itself, as an unspoken rule, does not like outsiders, especially humans, and they tend to be fiercely protective of their comrades. The prejudiced view of the outside world, which has labeled these remarkable beings freaks and mind jobs, has likewise served to deepen hatred on the psycher side. Thankfully, some tough MPs are on base to break up potential fights…or more to hold off anyone crazy enough to go against a psycher!

A Side Note: Because a single developed psycher can deal as much as or sometimes more damage than a zoid, they will not be permitted to pilot them!

The Private or Black Op Side of the Corp.

Deep beneath the surface, far down in basement sublevels of the psycher facilities are research and development installations with much darker intent. Only those with the highest clearance have ever set foot inside this forbidden zone. Researcher and subject alike are lucky to make it out alive from this heavily guarded area, though on a very few occasions it has been done. Inside these laboratories are living quarters no better than animal pens, and it is here that the truth of the Psi Corp comes to light.

Their activities are focused in three areas. The first is in using threats of and sometimes use of violence for the purpose of forcing young psychers to develop their skills. These skills are then used in creating tactical assault plans, super weapons, and to see outcomes both prior to and post battle to improve overall chances of keeping headway in the war. The second often uses outright torture and deprivation to examine the inner workings of the psycher mind and body. The research gained from this examination has then been used in the third area, the creation of genetically altered humans, or super soldiers.
