General Zoids Reference:
What are Zoids? In the early 1980s, Tomy Company, Ltd. (now the fifth largest toy company in the world!) introduced to the world an animal shaped robotic vehicle which came as a model kit you yourself assembled! They evolved from simple stationary models to fully moveable battery operated or wind up models and due to the simplicity of given instructions anyone could make them! Huge in Japan and across Europe they were only mildly popular here in the United States until Tomy re-released them in 1999 with a whole new design and color scheme. This time, they added a comic and animated series which expanded interest immeasurably, and allows you to now be looking at this page!
What are the three Zoids series? Chaotic Century (featuring a young Van Freiheit), Zoids Guardian Force (the continuation of Vans adventures), and New Century Zero (featuring Bit Cloud).
What came first, the anime or the toy? The toy of course! First released in the 1980s, they were popular across Asia and Europe but it wasnt really until their rerelease in 1999 along with the first of the Zoids anime series that they became popular here.
Have there ever been Zoids video games? Probably best known is the playstation game Zoids Zenebus vs. Heric but there were also games made for Famicom (the Japanese version of the original Nintendo system) and a game for Gameboy (only released in Japan). Most currently and sadly only released in Japan (at least for now) is the Gamecube game, Zoids Vs. - if you know of any others, please email us!
Where can I see the Zoids series? Cartoon network has been playing the three series at various times and places in their lineup. See their website or local listings for dates and times. Otherwise…-cough-downloadthem-cough-
Where can I buy Zoids? Where can unique or older models be purchased? Tomy & Hasbro are the current producers/carriers of Zoids figures. More specifically, you can get newer Zoids at most toy outlets (ToysRUs, Walmart, etc.). For older and unique zoids and especially Japan-release-only collectors versions there are a wealth of online sites from which to choose. Even ebay is said to have them from time to time. Just keep in mind Tomy is re-releasing some of the older formerly Japan-only zoids for the enjoyment of those in North America!
Gameplay Specific:
How do I create a character? First, review the webpage for vital information on character makeup. Once youve decided what kind of character to make and what sort of storyline that character will have, use the application link off the mainpage.
Why do you require character applications? First, we dont want three of the exact same character running around, one Van Freiheit is enough! Secondly, it allows us to monitor population growth and interest in areas of the game. Thirdly, it forces players to really think out what sort of character they would like to make. The guidelines given on the application allow a player to flesh out their ideas into a more solid form. It often decides whether you feel the character can be workable or whether the idea needs more thought. Why waste your time with a character lacking potential, right?
How do I go about getting a zoid, organoid, equipment or staff upgrade? First and foremost, please see the appropriate page for guidelines on what elements are specifically allowed in the game. Certain zoids and organoid types have been claimed and are only available on a limited basis. Be sure the custom parts you are requesting are reasonable before you ask! When you know what youre asking for, contact the room owner directly.
Off what system of roleplay are you based? Under the heading of freeform (written as though writing a play or novel, not rolled and ruled by dice) we have developed our own system of gameplay. Further details can be found thoroughout the page!
How do I join a faction? Its pretty much your choice as to which you belong, the character application is your place to list that information. Though you can change your faction at any time, you must remember that youll have to gain the trust of others who may be wary of you at first.
How do I join a team or create one of my own & for what are teams used? Teams will eventually have their own web pages connected through this site from which you can get information on their storylines and on who to contact. In the mean time ask around, if you cant find a group youd like to belong to you can build your own team and join with any members you wish!
Do you allow series characters? No. Our timeline is 3,000 years past the time of any of the series.
Do you use battle modes? Rules of conduct based on a number coding for use in tournaments. Because this is a war zone, not a time of peace, there is no need for them! The existence of tournaments will not be likely at least not with this system.
What if there is a difference of opinion on a post or action in the game? In cases which cannot be resolved, ask a staffer or room member for their unbiased input. Youll find members are friendly and will give their honest opinion on a call.

How can I add my zoid and character profile to the page? Email information to the webmistress. It will be added with the next full page page update, if not sooner assuming content is appropriate.
How can I add an article or make a suggestion for the webpage? Contact the room owner or staffer directly or email us!
Will you host my zoid profile? With the limited storage space and bandwidth of our current webserver, we cannot at this time host separate profile pages. We will however link profile pages held on your webserver or can post basic text information on our characters page.
Quick Tips & Etiquette:
Asking before entering a game. Its pretty simple and youll make friends faster if you dont make a habit of barging in on games. Interrupting games without knowing events surrounding it can often throw off an entire series of play. If you cant find an open game immediately, solo RP for a while, introduce your character around, get the feel of things. Dont get discouraged if youre not instantly the center of attention, sometimes it just takes patience. For current room happenings, ask the players themselves and head to the storylines section of the web page for current main room story summaries.
How do I construct a post? Many people enjoy writing out role play posts as one would for regular writing with quotes in quotation marks , thoughts in italics, and actions without ceremony. Youll find that the majority of people play by what we call the classic online method, its what many of us learned from the time we started online (yes, remember we were all newbies once ourselves!) this method involves text outside of any confines of punctuation and actions which take place in any mix of the following ways. Between ~ wavy lines ~, * asterisks *, or - dashes-. So long as text and action are distinctly marked, youre pretty well free to post any way you wish!
If this is your first time…-If youre new and nervous, just ask for help! Theres no shame in it. We all needed to ask questions starting out. Remember that everyone is here on equal footing. The point of this type of game play is to improve your writing. You have as much chance at being successful at gaming as does a person who had played the game for years. Its all about fun and exploring your creativity, its not a race! Just talk instead of lurking and youll be accepted and loving it in no time!

What is your stand on discipline in room? Were very laid back here and the rules are very easy to follow. Weve had few causes to use our three strikes policy, but the system runs as warning, discussion with the staff, outright banning. In most cases the first step is all thats necessary. Depending on the severity of the infraction, further action may have to be taken. The chat sites rules apply at all times and are as important as the room rules. We allow no pornography, ask that you keep cursing within a reasonable level, and approve of/support no acts which may result in the harming of a player or the chat site itself. We hold no responsibility for your actions outside of this room.
