Turned Away

As I stood there that morning

I watched him walk away

I knew not what to do

I could not find the words to say

And as the words began to flow

The tears fell from my eyes

All that came from within my heart

Was muffled by the stormy skies

A cold wind bew within her heart

As she watched him turn away

Her tears summoned the rain that fell

Yet still he would not stay

And darkness fell upon her heart

The sun would never again embrace her face

In sleep she drifted towards his love

And of the day he turned away
