Holding On

In my eyes a light shines,

yet darkness falls upon my heart.

I find myself in memories,

my past becomes my start.

I shed a tear for battles lost

and laugh with thoughts of my victories.

In my dreams desire forms,

and I know he fights restlessly.

Though I still hold him tight,

wishing my my enemy was able to be seen,

Not ever knowing if I'll even win,

needing himm to truly see me.

Wanting him to know who I am

and what my heart feels inside.

Running away is no use

we've come to far to step aside.

Trying to tell him is much worse

I open my mouth to try to speak, lost.
