The Shire of Glenn Linn is happy to host a new event, Arts and Arrows! We are holding several beginner A & S classes geared to suit new SCA folk and those a bit anxious about learning something new in addition to archery and heavy weapons tournaments!
CLASSES will be held rain or shine! Some of the great classes that are already scheduled are listed below. We have also scheduled a sing a long for those interested in learning and singing period songs..
Classes will include the following:
Illumination
Calligraphy
Persona class
Origami
Lamp work bead making (setups are available to use and someone to help)
Modern resources for the reenactor
SCA Etiquette classes - This is a whole track for people wanting to know more about the SCA.

With more being added all the time! Classes are being updated continually, so please check on our Classes page to see the list as it is updated!
There will be Royal Rounds for the archers as well as a William Tell Shoot, Fish in a Barrel and a Woods Shoot. Other novelty shoots are in the works. No clout is possible at this site, but a competition to determine the Shire Champion is scheduled. Please look on our Archery Tournaments page for more information.
HEAVY LIST pickups will be available, as well as a Blind Man's Bluff tournament, during which many spectators are highly encouraged to participate!
We are also trying to accommodate THROWN WEAPONS. It is possible that Royal Rounds for Thrown weapons will be added very soon to our listing.

Saturday Potluck DAYBOARD: Hot and cold provided. If you wish to bring a dish to share, it is greatly encouraged. Electric extension cords and power strips will be available for use. Please remember we have fighters that expend a lot of energy when you choose to bring a dish. Our MIC offers that bacon is always appreciated.

Outdoor play equipment is available for children to play on, but may be limited if the need arises due to weather and activities.
Weather- Mid May in the southern Adirondack Park can have extremes in temperatures.
Average temperature: 56.6'F Record high: 68.7'F Low: 44.5'F
For your own comfort, please pack with either of these extremes in mind.
