At noon on Thursday September 10 at the Fort Jackson Officers Club, we will meet MG Roger Cloutier, Commander, USATC and Fort Jackson and hear updates on activities at the training center and installation. If you have been on Fort Jackson in the past few months, you have noticed the increased security precautions when entering the post.
On October 9 -11, the SC MOAA Council of Chapters will have their biennial conference at the MCAS Beaufort and the MCRD at Parris Island. Any member of MOAA is welcome to attend. Staring off on Friday, will be the opportunity to see and have a tour of, not in, the new F-35’s recently stationed at MCAS. This single-seat, single-engine, all-weather stealth multirole fighter is capable of 1200 mph. Besides golf outings at the Legends Golf Course at Parris Island on Saturday, that evening will be the dinner and presentation of the 50th Year Affiliate Award from Admiral Norb Ryan, President of MOAA, and remarks from Congressman Joe Wilson.
on Friday, December 4, we will have a gala dinner to present to you, our chapter members, the 50th Year award. Many state and local dignitaries have been invited to this once in our chapter event. It will be held at the Fort Jackson Officers Club from 6 – 10 PM.
Our annual meeting will be held on Saturday morning, 9 AM, January 30, at the Fort Jackson Officers Club. This meeting will include the election and installation of chapter officers for 2016-2017.
