Welcome to the Columbia Military Officers Association of America home page! Columbia is home of the United States Army Training Center and Fort Jackson – where 50 percent of the Army’s Basic Combat Training load and 60 percent of the women entering the Army each year receive training. Our Chapter invites you to join many other officers of all the Services, active duty, retired, National Guard, and Reserves. If you are a member of MOAA at the National level, we welcome you to join our local Chapter. We meet six times a year, every other month except during the summer, and publish a newsletter six times a year to keep you informed on local and national military matters. So far this year, it has been a trying year for our active military, their families, and our retired members. Many decisions have not been made in a timely manner at the Washington level, and the impact on our service members and their families has been felt, here in Columbia, and around the world. Financial and budget issues, troop and base changes or reductions, all make it difficult to get a sense of direction, support, and commitment to our defense posture. All of these impact on the home life of our service personnel. So we try to keep you up to date through our meetings and newsletters on the important issues affecting compensation, benefits, healthcare, retirement, and education. Interest and support of your local chapter helps to keep everyone in the loop and offers an opportunity to renew old friendships, and to make new ones. Come join us. We look forward to seeing you at the next meeting.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
